The NeuroVestibular Complex On-Site Training
This hands-on course is designed to bridge the gap between evaluation and treatment of adult patients with balance disorders associated with vestibular dysfunction. Course Description/AgendaThis hands-on course is designed to bridge the gap between evaluation and treatment of adult patients with balance disorders associated with vestibular dysfunction. A structured method of examination involving the components of movement and mobility will be presented in conjunction with treatment paradigms specific to the diagnosis and impairments. Functional testing procedures and evidenced-based treatment techniques will be demonstrated and reinforced with hands on practice time to allow for integration of the material. All course materials have been carefully designed to serve as a life long resource in the clinic. Objectives
FacultyDr. John Ryan PT, DHS is a senior physical therapist working for Health First in Melbourne, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis, Krannert School of Physical Therapy were he earned both a Masters and Doctor of Health Science degree. His clinical practice and research interests are in the evaluation and treatment of vestibular disorders and fall prevention for older adults. He is an experienced educator presenting seminars nationally in the areas of vestibular and balance dysfunction in addition to his role as a visiting instructor at the University of Central Florida School of Physical therapy. John is a member of the East Central Florida Memory Disorders Clinic research committee and the State of Florida Falls Prevention Coalition. He has published on the subjects of geriatrics, health promotion and wellness. Dr Ryan is a clinician, researcher and educator, and considered to be one of the leading therapists in the care of balance and fall prevention in the Southeastern United States. Educational CreditA certificate of attendance for 15 Contact Hours (17 in FL) will be awarded to each participant. All Therapy Network Seminars are pre‐approved for CEUs in the state where the course is conducted when required for PT, OT, ATs AND Assistants. Therapy Network, Inc. (BOC AP#: P2563) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers. Our seminars are eligible for a maxi‐ mum of 15 Category A hours/CEUs.
