Target Writing: Get Readers to Take Action Seminar
Presented by Target Learning, LLC
A seminar to help you write e-mails, letters, memos, and reports that ensure your readers take the action you need. Course DescriptionWe will show you how to communicate your message to help you achieve your desired results. As busy writers, we tend to think mainly about disseminating information and not how the readers will react to the formatting, the sentence structure, and the writing tone. For example, if a document is poorly formatted, readers can't quickly find the relevant information they need (or want); consequently, they'll put the document aside with the intention of "reading it later when they have more time". If the sentence structure is choppy or the writing tone is unpleasant, readers will focus more on the style than on the content - which defeats the purpose of the communication. What will I learn? In this seminar, you will learn how to use your personal thinking style to:
What makes this seminar different? A strong linear thinker will find it difficult to comprehend a document written in a global format and global style - just as a strong global thinker would find a detailed and sequential document tedious. Consequently, if your writing doesn't cater to your readers' particular learning and thinking strengths, your true message may be hidden from view, despite how it clear it may seem to you. Therefore, you will learn how to grab the attention of your reader, and deliver content that motivates your reader to take action. IMPORTANT: We recommend you bring your current writing assignments (or topics) to this seminar. Our instructor will show you how to apply our strategies directly to the type of writing you must complete on a daily basis.
